One "Targui", two "Tuareg" ... The Tuareg are nomads originating from the Sahara that stretches from northern Mali and Niger to southern Algeria and Libya. They speak the "Tamachek" and write in "Tifinar" (or "Tifinagh").
Many Agades crosses coexist, that symbolize each one Tuareg town, the most famous being the city of Agadez in Niger. At the root of Agades crosses is perhaps the cross of life, the Egyptian Ankh, or later, the Christian cross. But these four branches crosses could also symbolize the four cardinal points for a nation of nomadic travelers.
