African masks

The african mask is certainly the most iconic object of so called "primal Arts". We appreciate the aesthetic, elaborate, powerful style of ceremonial masks from the "Dan", "Dogon", "Songye", "Fang" tribes... but their users were actually lending them only true value only for their use during the ceremonies, when inspired by otherworlds spirits, and when the mask was a true mediator between the ancestor it represented and the dancer wearing it.
