The african crafts for which we have not yet written a special section are listed on this page dedicated to african handicraft.
The tuareg leather boxes are manufactured objects made with leather pasted on a frame of wood. They are part and parcel of traditional Niger, Mali and more generally across the Sahara where Tuareg caravans moved.
Our African dolls are created by young handicapped women suffering from polyomelitis in Togo. The sisters had initiated them to this craft several decades ago. Unfortunately, the french customs asked for large amount of money for laboratory tests, and found that this product, also just decorative, could induce risks for children because it is stuffed with natural kapok and some seeds remain in the stuffing. Better buy cancer inducing plastics !! So we have to our great regret suspended marketing for the greatest misfortune of those handicapped ladies center.
